Carolina Medical Associates has been serving the Mecklenburg County area
since 1980. We have highly trained physicians in Internal Medicine, Hematology
and Oncology. Our goal at Carolina Medical Associates is to provide the

Meet Our Team of Doctors
Dr. Avinash D. Shah - Accepting New Patients
Specializes in Hematology; Cancer Treatments
Dr. Shah received his medical training at The University of
Nairobi, Columbia University of New York, and State University
of New York at Stoneybrook. Dr. Shah has been practicing
Internal Medicine in the Charlotte area since 1986. He has
specialty training in management of blood disorders and
management of cancer treatments.
Dr. Maher S. Agha - Accepting New Patients
Dr. Agha received his undergraduate training at Wake Forest
University. After completing his medical education at Ross
University School of Medicine, he completed his Residency in
Internal Medicine at Yale University Affiliated Danbury Hospital.
Dr. Susan C. Echterling - Accepting New Patients
Dr. Echterling received her undergraduate degree from Mount
Holyoke College, her medical degree from Dartmouth Medical
School, and attended the residency program at Boston
University Affiliated Hospitals. She is Board Certified in
Emergency Medicine and has been practicing both emergency
medicine and primary care medicine in Charlotte since 1996.
